So I've heard that the petroleum companies are gouging their customers. I refuse to believe it. Companies that are essentially monopolies [umm... cable TV providers?!?!] gouging their customers?!?!? No, it couldn't happen. Not in a democracy with checks and balances like the US. Even though we allow lobbying, unlike the EU and Japan, there's no way that our congressman can get corrupted by the gifts of big corporations, could they? I mean, they're public servants... they have a higher calling, no?
